Library Network Offers At-Home Learning & Productivity Resources

The Community Library Network recently expanded online educational resources for children, students and adults. Any member can access these resources and new members are encouraged to sign up at communitylibrary.net.

All seven Library Network locations remain closed pursuant to the Idaho Governor’s Statewide Stay-Home Order delivered on March 25, 2020 regarding COVID-19. Locations are closed at least until April 15th in in Athol, Harrison, Hayden, Pinehurst, Post Falls, Rathdrum, and Spirit Lake locations. Libraries will reopen in response to forthcoming state and local recommendations.

“We encourage our community to stay positive and active. Our E-Library resources on our website are a great way to do that,” urged Library Network Director John Hartung.

E-Library resources for students, adults, and young learners are available to all Community Library Network members. To further encourage community health through learning, the Library Network is now offering online membership applications.

On-site activities, programs, and book returns are temporarily unavailable. During the closure period, all overdue blocks have been removed. This means that members’ library card restrictions will not prohibit their access to online resources including e-books and autobooks. Physical items can be returned after libraries re-open.

“At this time, we aren’t concerned with our members having overdue items. We want them to have access to all the on-line learning and productivity resources we offer,” encourages Hartung. “We believe that learning at home is a healthy and productive activity during this critical time,” continues Hartung.

The Network’s website www.librarynetwork.net includes learning resources, a new membership application as well as an option to receive email updates about library developments. Members needing assistance with their membership access may call (208) 773-1506 X322. A librarian will respond within 48 hours.
