Jane Iddings, former columnist for the Arizona Daily Sun (Flagstaff), will lead new and experienced writers through a 12-week memoir writing series at the Rathdrum Library, beginning Friday, September 13, 10:30 a.m. to noon. The classes will take place every Friday, through December 6, except for the day after Thanksgiving. The course is Free. Reservations are required and seating is limited.

Using Julia Cameron's book, "It's Never Too Late to Begin Again," Iddings will lead participants through the writing process. It contains essay's, tools, and exercises to be done in groups or alone.

Idding's lived on a small farm in Hayden Lake during her early years. Her mother's first teaching job was at Rathdrum High, while her father started his life-long USDA career in Kootenai County. After traveling the United States and the world, Idding's has returned to North Idaho. "I feel I belong here, that it is here that I'm climbing back into the the nest to think, to ponder, to contemplate my life, to make meaning of it by writing it down," she said.
Now she is ready to help others who want to do the same, whether they are writers or not. "The memoir writing class is for folks who want to have the dedicated time to think about their lives and to write their life stories,"Iddings said.
